Follow along as I chronicle our family's adventure in helping Kelly recover with Ruby. I will reveal the good, the bad, and the boring as I do my best to train Ruby to help Kelly with horse riding as the best form of natural treatment to compliment her medical treatment.
In order to be successful, I will need to train Ruby to the highest levels of classical riding horsemanship in pursuit of the noblest equestrian activity - equine assisted neuro-rehab (a.k.a. riding therapy). This monumental effort will require a lot of time, energy, and dedication. I will be combining several knowledge bases including:
the horse training traditions of the old Viennese school
modern neuroscience
the most recent advances in understanding neuro-plasticity
the modern practices of neuro-athletics and physical therapy
human and equine anatomy and physiology
neuro-diverse and neuro-typical learning styles and communication preferences
I will also need God's grace and guidance, the support of my family, and all the prayer and good luck I can find within a supporting community.
I welcome you to join us in our journey.

The refining pot is for silver and the furnace for gold, but the LORD tests the heart. Proverbs 17:3
As fire refines precious metals by removing impurities, so too does the trainer refine the horse by daily gymnastic work in the arena.
The time tested gymnastic training process of the Old School improves the horse by imparting mobility to joints, strength to muscles, and refinement to the intellect.
